Job Description

NTPC is looking for Finance Executives, Safety Officers, Mines Surveyor, SAP -ABAS/BASIS Executives and Doctors/Specialists. The detail of the posts is as under.

Qualification Details
  1. For Finance Executives: Qualified CA or lCWA.
  2. For Safety Officers : Graduate Engineering Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Production with at least 60% marks from a recognized University/Institution with full time Diploma in Industrial Safety from Regional Labour Institute/Institution recognized under the Factories Act/Rules or Degree in Engineering in Industrial Safety with at least 60% marks from a recognized University/ Institution. Post qualification experience shall be counted from the date a candidate has acquired the Degree in Engineering.
  3. For SAP - ABAS/BASIS Executives : Graduate Engineering Degree in Computer Science with at least 60% marks from a recognized University/Institution. Holder of valid SAP Professional Certificate in BASIS/ABAP from SAP Authorized Training Centre is required. Post qualification experience shall be counted from the date a candidate has acquired the Degree in Computer Science Engineering.
  4. For Mines Surveyor : Diploma in Civil/Mining/Mines Survey. Holder of valid mine surveyor certificate of Competency or equivalent under CMR 1957. Knowledge of computer, Auto CAD, LDDT (Land Development Desktop), 3D Modeling etc. are desirable.
  5. For Medical (GDMO) : MBBS from recognized University/ Institution.
  6. For Medical Specialist (Medicine/radiology) : MBBS with MD/MS in Medicine/Radiology.

Age Limit Details
  1. Maximum age for E1 - E3 levels : 37 years
  2. Maximum age for E4 level: 42 years

Age Relaxation:
Upper age is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, by 3 years for OBC candidates, by 10 years for PWD candidates, by 5 years for candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.80 to 31.12.89. Relaxation of age to Ex-Serviceman as per Govt, guidelines.

  1. Payscale for Finance Executives: Rs 29100 - 54500 or Rs 32900 - 58000/-
  2. Payscale for Safety Officers : Rs 20600 - 46500 or Rs 24900 - 50500 or Rs 29100 - 54500/-
  3. Payscale for SAP - ABAS/BASIS Executives : Rs 29100 - 54500 or Rs 32900 - 58000/-
  4. Payscale for Mines Surveyor : Rs 20600 - 46500/-
  5. Payscale for Medical (GDMO) : Rs 24900 - 50500/-
  6. Payscale for Medical Specialist (Medicine/radiology) : Rs 24900 - 50500 or Rs 29100 - 54500/-

Selection Procedure
  1. - Selection process will be on the basis of online written test followed by interview except for GDMO/Specialist.
  2. - In case the number of applications is more for the post of GDMO/Specialist, the above selection process shall prevail.
  3. - The final selection shall be on the basis of 85% weightage of online written test marks and 15% weightage of interview marks. However, candidate has to qualify separately in written test and interview.


Required Experience 
  1. For Finance Executives: Post qualification executive experience in the area of Accounts/ Finance/ Internal Audit preferably in a large organization/organization of repute.
  2. For Safety Officers : Working experience in compliance with safety regulations under the Factories Act. Developing, auditing and improving safety systems. PROMOTION of safety consciousness amongst employees and examination of machinery, equipment and building from the safety angle. Experience in organizing safety training and fire fighting would be an added advantage.
  3. For SAP - ABAS/BASIS Executives : Working experience in the field of IT/ABAP/BASIS.
  4. For Mines Surveyor : Working experience in the field of mine surveying, fully conversant with modern equipments like Total Station Instrument, EDS, Digital Theodolite, Auto Set Level, Dumpy Level etc. for accurate survey and leveling. Working experience in preparation and maintenance of mine plans, sections, tracing and statutory requirements under CMR 1957 and submission of statutory reports as required under CMR 1957 etc. Experience in large mechanized open cast coal mine is desirable.
  5. For Medical (GDMO) : E2 level Minimum 2 years experience/ practice after MBBS (Internship training shall not be counted as experience).
  6. For Medical Specialist (Medicine/radiology) : E3 level: Minimum 1 year experience/practice after MD/MS. E2 level: Fresh MD/MS qualified doctor. E2 level [Radiology]: Minimum 2years experience/practice after PG Diploma.
Note:  For SC/ST candidates, the total years of post qualification executive experience will be relaxed by 1 year where prescribed experience is 3 to 5 years and relaxed by 2 years where prescribed experience is more than 6 years.
