The Telangana State Electricity Control Board (ECC) has recently been permitted to issue bills to the consumers in the current month of April in an alternate manner without taking the meter reading in the backdrop of the state running lockdown for the corona virus control. The ECC has approved the proposals made by the south/North Telangana Electricity Distribution Corporation (DISAM) to issue provisional bills to consumers in the current month of April, exactly as the electricity bills issued during the year or last March. As soon as the state government lifted the lockdown, the meter reading for the next month was ordered to correct the fluctuations in bills issued in the provisional system based on the actual power consumption of consumers. In April, the electricity bills will be issued to the LT-1 Residential consumers in the following manner.
2019 of the existing housing (LT – 1), street lights (LT – 6a) and water supply schemes (LT – 6b) to the consumers of electricity connections in the current month of April, the equivalent bills for the Bills issued in April 2019 to the customers. This means that the bills relating to electricity consumed in March 2019 are to be paid in April 2019. In March 2020, Discoms proposed to collect the basis of the electricity statistics used temporarily in March 2019 even the bills relating to electricity used. 2019 in the current month, an equal bill will be issued to the bill issued in March 2020 to the customers of electricity connections (LT – 1), street lights (LT – 6a) and water supply schemes (LT – 6b) issued during the period April 1 – 2020 February 29. The bills will be issued in April 2020 on a minimum demand basis for customers of new housing (LC – 1), street lights (LC – 6a) and water supply schemes (LV – 6b) issued in March 2020.
