How to Apply for JNVST 2026?
Candidates can apply online free of cost through the official website https://navodaya.gov.in
Required Documents:
- Student's photograph
- Signature of student and parent
- Aadhaar card or residence certificate
- APAAR ID / PEN number
- Studying in Class V during the 2025–26 academic year in a Govt./Govt.-aided/recognized school.
- Date of Birth: Must be born between 01-05-2014 to 31-07-2016.
- Must be a bona fide resident of the district applying from.
- Must have completed full academic sessions in Classes III, IV, and V.
- Students who have already appeared for JNVST earlier cannot reapply.
Important Instructions for Parents
- Admission is provisional until document verification.
- Must apply only for the district of study and residence.
- Provide accurate Aadhaar/residence and caste certificate.
- OBC applicants must refer to Central OBC list only.
DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED AFTER SELECTION
The parents of the candidates who are provisionally selected for admission will
have to submit the following documents at the time of admission for verification: -
i. Proof for date of birth -The copy of Birth Certificate issued by competent
Government Authority concerned.
ii. Proofs for eligibility as per the conditions of NVS.
iii. For candidates seeking admission under rural quota, the parents will also
have to submit a certificate from the competent authority to the effect
that the child had studied class III, IV and V in an Institution/ School
located in a rural area.
iv. Residence Certificate: The valid residential proof (as notified Govt. of
India) of the parent of the same District where the JNV is located &
candidate has studied class V shall be furnished.
v. Copy of Aadhaar Card of the candidate: As per section 7 of Aadhaar
act, 2016, the provisionally selected candidate has to submit the copy of
Aadhaar Card to get admission under the Navodaya Vidyalaya
Scheme.
vi. Certificate by the Head Master of the school regarding study details of
class III, IV & V.
vii. Medical fitness certificate.
viii. Undertaking for Migration
ix. Disability certificate (if applicable)
x. Category/community certificate (SC/ST) if applicable.
xi. Category/community certificate OBC, as per central list if applicable.

Note: - The TC from parent school after the verification of documents and
confirmation of admission by the respective JNV is to be submitted
after getting counter signature of District Education Authorities
(DEO/BEO etc.).
