School Education of Telangana is conducting Science Hackathon for school children from class 8th to 10th class on the name of DO IT YOURSELF DIY. School Children in Telangana have to go through the Guidelines and Select the concepts available.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THIS HACKATHON?: Students of Classes 8-10 can participate in this hackathon. Teachers will participate as part of student teams.
HOW DO SCHOOLS PARTICIPATE?
Any government school can participate in this hackathon. Teachers and Students form teams. Maximum team size is minimum 1 and maximum 4 members including a teacher. You can form any number of teams in a school to participate. Teachers can be in any
HOW DO THE TEAMS SELECT THEIR TOPICS FOR THE HACKATHON?
Please refer the CONCEPTS LIST document for the list of topics. Please do not use your own concepts or topics.
WHAT DO THE TEAMS WORK ON?
Teachers and Students form teams and can choose any number of concepts from the CONCEPTS LIST and with the help of the teacher build experiment or practical experiments to explain the concept. The kits that they use or the material that they use to build these experiments should not be ready made kits or kits that you get in the market. They should be built using low-cost materials and preferably recyclable materials. For example, please refer the SAMPLE PROJECTS to help you understand what you will be submitting.
WHAT WILL TEAMS UPLOAD AND WHERE?
Teams on completion of the experiment, will record and explain the concept and the experiment, observations and conclusions. They will upload this video to YOUTUBE or to GOOGLE DRIVE or MICROSOFT ONEDRIVE or DROPBOX and share that link. Make sure that link is shareable and is working.

WHAT FORMAT WILL THE FILES BE IN?
Videos will be uploaded into YOUTUBE in format suitable to YOUTUBE. Preferably in MP4, MOV format.
WHERE DO THEY SHARE THE LINK?
You can click UPLOAD PROJECT button on the website. There you will be asked basic information such as school name, Concept name, Students names, etc. Please fill along with the video link.
HOW ARE THE PROJECTS GRADED?
Projects are graded by subject matter experts and as follows:
•10 points for Explaining Concept and quality of video
•30 points for Practical kit built
•30 points for creativity /uniqueness/ originality in kit and cost of kit
